30th anniversary - we're celebrating!
This year, 2024, we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the founding of the company. During this long journey, we established co-operation with large wholesalers and other important customers both in the Czech Republic and around the world. We are growing and be the leader on the market for you. At the same time, we remain committed to our core principles and values. Continuously with our products, we offer you an individual approach to the realization of each project in the field of surge protection and insulation monitors. We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to the successful growth of the company and we believe that you will continue to support us. March 29, 2020 will be one of Hakel's important days. The DMS (DATA MANAGEMENT SYSTEM) project has been implemented. This is a central system that, in terms of ISO 9001, is used to manage all company production documentation.

A significant milestone in 2019 was the change in corporate identity, which clearly set the corporate culture. A quarter of a century has passed since Hakel was founded. Pavel Hudec blew out the candles on the cake to the applause of all employees.

The year 2016 was marked by the modernisation of production department as well as research and development department. The company acquired, among others, a welding and sandblasting centre, a two-component tampon print machine and a vacuum furnace. For the needs of the research and development department, setting semi-automatic machines and drying cabinets were purchased.

On 24 June 2015, the new website www.hakelsoft.cz was launched - link to Hakelsoft. The website follows the creation of the risk calculation software in 2012. Hakelsoft software is available in several versions: HAKELSOFT-P, HAKELSOFT-G, HAKELSOFT-G 3D, HAKELDOFT-T.

On 17 February 2014, the founder of Hakel, Mr. Ing. Jaroslav Hudec, PhD died after a short illness at the age of 72. The last farewell took place in the courtyard of HAKEL, on 21. 2. 2014 at 10.00 am. In memory of his father, Mr Pavel Hudec had two bronze busts made by the academic sculptor Michal Moravec, which stand on the company's premises. All employees took part in their unveiling ceremony. On 21 October 2014 the 20th anniversary of Hakel was celebrated. All employees and important business partners were invited.

At the beginning of the year we purchased a CNC machine for the machining workshop and in the summer we installed a Hotflow furnace for the production of varistors. In order to strengthen the production capacity in the plastics moulding workshop, a Führung LWF 1300-SV injection moulding machine was purchased in the autumn.

With the development of foreign business activities especially, the need for various certificates and certifications arises. After rigorous testing we received a VDE certificate from a German testing laboratory recognized worldwide. Successful completion of the tests confirmed the quality of our products. At the same time, the software Procop, today's Hakelsoft, was created. Thanks to this program, the electrical designer can correctly design the lightning protection solution and choose the appropriate type of SPD which is an integral part of the documentation for thebuilding permit. With the increase in the construction of photovoltaic power plants, we recorded a significant increase in orders for their safety solutions, for which we developed a special range of surge protectors.

In 2008, the company received approval to connect a photovoltaic power plant. We built a 162 kW photovoltaic power plant on the area in front of the new building.
The export of Hakel surge protectors grew considerably due to promotion at foreign trade fairs worldwide.
On October 8, 2009 we celebrated together the 15th anniversary of the company’s establishment.

The lack of space led the owner to the decision to purchase a three-story prefabricated building from the adjacent property, to which a three-story building was added for administrative and warehouse purposes.
The new buildings were used as warehouse, sales department and offices of company management. At the same time a training centre with a small house was built and used for surge protection training as well as training in the filed of insulation monitoring devices.

In May 2005 we tested the lightning resistance of the cladding on the current O2 Arena. The measurements were successfully carried out using our HAKELGUN 100 generator.

Time passed quickly and so in 2004 Hakel celebrated its first anniversary. To celebrate the tenth anniversary, the first official film was made covering the company's history since its establishment.

Due to the increase in production, it was necessary to start the construction of a second production hall. Except for assembly areas, a locksmith's workshop and a warehouse, it was mainly used for injection moulding machines thanks to which the company started own production of all plastic boxes.

This year we managed to realize an important foreign activity. Hakel Russia was established in St. Petersburg.

In 2000, we launched a 3D animation showing what happens when lightning strikes a power line pole and the resulting damage. "We wanted the ordinary person to understand what happens in the power grid when a surge occurs and what damage can occur," explained Mr Pavel Hudec, who created the animation.

This year the company celebrated its 5th anniversary. In the newly built hall we installed technological equipment for soldering and epoxy coating of varistors, newly equipped the locksmith's workshop and increased assembly capacity. Another success for the company was the acquisition of ISO 14001 certification.

The reward for the tireless work of the previous years was the Golden Ampere 98 award for the product HIS, the insulation monitoring device. The expansion of the product range has also attracted foreign customers. The sales department seized this opportunity by organising seminars and taking part in exhibitions. Thanks to this Hakel found some new business opportunities.

This year, some costly equipment for the production of first and second stage of surge protectors was purchased and the company's production programme was further expanded.
An important milestone was the acquisition of ISO 9001 certification and the production of theáfirst moulds for plastic mouldings, which were intended for the production of first and second stage arresters. Test equipment was purchased for testing of transmission values in data systems. The first product catalogue was created.

In September 1995, the construction of an operational building in Bratří Štefanů street was completed. The main focus was on Hakel’s own research and development. During the year, the production programme was expanded to include new types of surge protectors, mainly for data lines and third level of surge protectors with a high frequency filter.

From November 1994 we worked in the temporary premises of the former coal warehouses in Hořická street. However, these premises soon became insufficient. Literally on a green field, the first building of today's company headquarters was built between 1994 and 1995.
